Daniel J. Dente, 70, of Bridgewater and Livingston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 with his loving family by his side, in Morristown. Daniel was born in Orange, to the late Dominick and Joan Dente, and worked for the Township of Livingston Public Works as a machine operator for 25 years, where many knew him by his radio call number 313. For 11 years, Daniel also proudly served as a volunteer firefighter for the Livingston Fire Department. Danny’s playfully mischievous personality, kindheartedness and generosity endeared him to all he met.

Summer Fun Continues
Summer Fun Continues

Last week, Livingston celebrated another spectacular Fourth of July on the Oval, with residents enjoying a full calendar of activities leading up to the fantastic fireworks display in the evening. Attendance seemingly rises each year (check out some of the photos in this issue of the Tribune for proof), as residents bring their friends and families from outside the township to celebrate Independence Day. With a schedule of activities that filled the entire day, start to finish, the event literally offered something for everyone – and it sure seemed like all took advantage of it. Much praise should be bestowed upon Livingston’s Fourth of July committee, which puts countless hours into planning this huge affair. We are sure the members are already preparing to top it with next year’s event.

Michael’s Musings

When you have children, there are many unexpected minor challenges that arise. I’m not talking about the major stuff, but rather the day-to-day minutiae that you never even consider until it pops up in the moment. One of those, for me, is enduring the occasional haircut.
