Eugene Colicchio, 95, of Livingston, died on Saturday, August 10. Born in Glen Ridge to the late Anna Cardinal and Antonio Colicchio, he resided in Livingston for the past 62 years.

Services Held For Mrs. Hesterhagen
Arlene Hesterhagen, 87, of Livingston, died on August 3. She was born on August 7, 1937 in Orange, to her parents, Carmen and Mary Canouch. Her two sisters, Anastasia Simone and Gertrude Ennis, preceded her in death.

Donald S. Coburn 1939-2024
In his own words, from Don’s personal history written for his family, “I stirred things up a bit and I think I did some good while making my fair share of mistakes. Although I think most of my battles were good ones, you never really know why you do things. And that’s so, even when you can give reasons for what you’ve done. But at least I tried to live with some success by this statement of Henry David Thoreau: ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.’” Donald Stephen Coburn lived a most remarkable life from April 18, 1939 to August 7, 2024. Inspired by his motto “Carpe Diem,” Don seized each day in a life filled with hard work, love of the law, devotion to family and his dogs, and great pleasure in exploring nature, learning, and the arts.

Planning Board Approves E. McClellan Subdivision
The Livingston Planning Board, at its August 8 meeting, approved East McClellanAvenue, LLC’s request for a major subdivision at 36, 38, and 42 East McClellan Avenue. Of the lots listed, East McClellan Avenue, LLC asked to modify lots 18 and 19 with single-family residences while subdividing Lot 20 into five new parcels. The proposal faced criticism from various Livingston residents living near East McClellan Avenue, primarily out of concern for its impact on stormwater drainage.

Yang Jin to Host September Concert Showcasing Traditional Chinese Music
Yang Jin, a Livingston resident who is trained in traditional Chinese instruments, including the pipa and liuqin, is participating in a concert with the Chinese Musicians Association of North America. The concert, Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Concert, will take place in the concert hall at Drew University, in Madison, on Sunday, September 15, beginning at 3 p.m.
